Terms and Conditions
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Bus Rules
The first rule at MDD is to HAVE FUN and second, don’t be a wanker! Thou shalt follow these rules to avoid wanker status (and possibly losing your deposit). No bloody smoking. No illegal drugs. The lot of you are welcome to BYOB and enjoy them while riding the bus. However, guests may not carry open containers of alcohol onto or off the bus. If you do spill, please clean it up right away. No bloody underage drinking. If you wish to bring food you may. No sitting on the bar or back of seats. Seats are for arses not standing. Standing while the bus is in motion could result in passenger injury. Maryland Double Deckers are not responsible for any injuries due to a passenger who stands while the bus is in motion. Don’t be daft. All passengers will be required to sign a waiver prior to riding the bus. This will be made available closer to the date of the event.
Hop On Hop Off
The concept of Hop On Hop Off is that you can jump on and jump of-ten as you like during your ride. For events, such as the Brew with a View there will be multiple stops where you can decide if you want to jump off. Each stop will be at a different brewery being highlighted on the route. There will be 15-minute intervals between stops, so you are always able to hop back on when you’re ready. It’s important to note that you will have to wait 1 hour for the bus to do a full loop. This means that if you hop off at a location at 12:30, it will be 1:30 before the bus comes back to that location.
Passenger Safety & Comfort
Maryland Double Deckers Waiver
Hello, and welcome to the Maryland Double Deckers bus! We are so happy to have you on board! Please read and sign the following statement carefully. You will be unable to board the bus without a signed waiver.
As a customer/passenger of our vehicle, you agree that Maryland Double Deckers, LLC, its agents or employees will not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, direct or consequential loss, however caused, unless due to willful misconduct or gross negligence by MDD, in which case its liability is limited (except for death or personal injury) for damages to a maximum of the refund of the ticket price. In addition, the customer/passenger waives any right of subrogation with regard to the same.
While experiencing an open-top bus is very exciting, it is important to remember that there are certain precautions necessary due to the height of the bus and exposure to the elements. Basic safety measures, such as keeping your body (hands, feet, arms, head, etc.) inside of the bus and remaining seated while the vehicle is in motion are required until our destination is reached for the safety of everyone on board. Ultimately, you acknowledge that you are responsible for your safety.
MDD reserves the right to remove or refuse any passenger, without refund, that interferes with the safe operation of the vehicle or engages in any disruptive or illegal conduct or activity, including but not limited to the use of illegal drugs, fighting/wrestling or excessive consumption/possession of alcohol.
Our only other rule is to have fun and don’t be a wanker!
** Please note, if you are purchasing tickets for multiple passengers, signing this waiver agrees that those passengers also acknowledge the terms and conditions and are responsible for their safety.
Dress for the Weather
When sitting on top it is important to dress appropriately for the weather. We do not have air conditioning on the bus but windows on the bottom level do open for a good cross breeze. This is an open platform bus which means in colder weather, it is best to dress in layers or bring a blanket to keep warm. On sunny, warmer days when sitting on the top level, it is best to wear lighter clothing and a hat/sunscreen.
Sound System
We equipped the bus with speakers on both top and bottom levels to better hear our captivating and engaging Clippies. The assigned Clippie is your host while riding with Maryland Double Deckers. The Clippie will greet you upon arrival and help you with boarding and deboarding the bus. Clippies are there to help ensure the safety of our riders, answer questions and are our tour guides for specific events. We treasure our Clippies. Without them, it would be just you and the sound of the bus. No one wants that, so don’t be a wanker and treat them respectfully.
Seating/Priority Seating
At full capacity with our current seating, we can fit up to 40 passengers. Seating is first come, first serve with the ability to fit 2 people per seat. Please remember that our seats are the original from when the bus was built in 1966. There is standing room for up to 5 passengers on the bottom level. This is accommodated with a ceiling-fixed rail that is towards the back of the bus.
Due to the age of the bus, there are also certain limitations to extra space available. We have assigned priority seating for those who require some extra leg room and/or need room for items such as walking devices. These two front seats are located on the bottom level, and a Clippie can assist passengers, including those with disabilities, in getting into and out of the vehicle. If additional accommodation is necessary, please call 301-202-1738 before your ride and we will do our best to meet your needs.
Food & Drinks
Food and non-alcoholic drinks are allowed on the bus. We aren’t going to scold you if you have bad etiquette but please be mindful of any messes. Our Clippies are responsible for keeping our bus clean but greatly appreciate your help in doing your part. A garbage can be provided for anything that needs to be thrown away.
BYOB (Bring Your Own Beer)
If you have reserved the bus for a private event you are allowed to bring your own beer/booze as long as the containers are not open when taken on or off the bus. All passengers must be 21 and over. MDD is not allowed to sell alcohol and we are not liable for consumption. We strongly encourage anyone who has been drinking to not drink and drive! MDD staff will provide information for local resources that can help ensure everyone gets home safely. https://www.sossaferide.org/howto/
Discrimination Policy
Here at Maryland Double Decker’s, we accept it all, including the Scots. Everyone is welcome on board, even the Welsh. No matter how you look, how tall you stand, or if you’re so short you look like you’re kneeling, come as yourself. We only ask that the flags and banners stay at home. We think of ourselves as a very neutral bus company. The only position we care about here is, top or bottom, even when it comes to you traitorous lot. So come and have fun — remember, don’t be a wanker! MDD will not refuse to provide transportation based on race, color, national origin, religion, or sex.
Staff
Our drivers are background checked through the State of Maryland and required to pass drug and alcohol screenings.

We believe strongly in the Maryland Double Decker experience. If you’re dissatisfied with your ride, please allow us to make it right by contacting our Customer Service office at 301-202-1738.
